Hi there, I’m Chyuen {chew-ah-n}.
I was born and raised in Singapore but Manchester has been my home away from home since 2014. Being away from my family meant learning to cook out of sheer necessity and desperation. This little blog is therefore a way to chronicle the many recipes that I have learnt and share my love for food with you.
There aren’t enough words to describe my obsession with food. Some may see food as merely fuel to get them through the day but to me, food is something I think about and look forward to each day. Cooking has now also become a form of self-care – it’s where I find peace and joy. It’s a way to unwind, zone out and more importantly, a way to share my love with my friends, family and now you through food.
What you should know is that I typically don’t measure anything while cooking, nor have I ever followed a recipe to a T (unless it’s baking…because everyone needs to abide by that science lol). All the measurements in here are good “guides” but by all means adjust them to your liking. All that I know I learned from my grandmother and the Internet, so if I can make it, you can too!
